Anchor Retreat 2022 Registration

In-person Anchor Retreat for MBA Students, August 4-7, 2022 in Lake Tahoe, CA

"This Retreat was the perfect balance of informative speakers and time spent building relationships with other believers. This was all done with a focus on worshiping the Lord through our words and actions and of course through literal worship with one another. I was impressed with how many diverse perspectives we were able to bring together with our group which led to a great environment. People shared, sought to understand and even debated theological differences; and shared prayers with one another, which was especially impactful."

- J., Kellogg MBA

The 2022 Anchor Retreat is a unique opportunity for incoming and current MBA students to connect, have fun, and to be anchored in their faith for the upcoming academic year. This multi-day retreat sets the stage for each school year and enables us, who love Jesus, the opportunity to devote ourselves to deepening our faith as we pursue our degree. It is a pivotal time and a unique opportunity to connect with fellow students, deepening our community, before our commitments increase during the academic year.

"This weekend was so transformational for me in so many areas of my heart and relationship with Jesus. So many conversations, prayers, songs, moments, etc. that spoke to me over these few days. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I can't wait to see how God will continue to use you throughout your life in small and big ways!"

- M., Berkeley MBA

The Anchor Retreat

The Anchor Retreat is led by a team of six students from MBA programs across the U.S. and is sponsored by InterVarsity's MBA Ministry. This student team is preparing the best possible experience for all attendees. We are excited to announce that a grant has been provided to cover the majority of the cost of hosting the retreat at a luxury cabin in Lake Tahoe, CA, enabling us to offer this year's event for $225. We want everyone to be able to join us so please apply for a needs-based scholarship (see below) if finances is holding you back.

"Since many MBA programs have relatively small cohorts with few dedicated believers, the multi-university aspect of the Retreat and the relationships formed were unique and important. I left the weekend having made new friends and inspired to continue growing in my relationship with Christ heading into school. I hope that this is the start of both formal and informal connections between Christians at the country's top MBA programs."

- J., Stanford MBA

2021 Retreat Speakers

In 2021 we hosted the Retreat in the Smoky Mountains. We had several prominent speakers, including Trae Stephens (partner at the Founders Fund and Co-Founder of Andruil), Mark McClain (CEO at SailPoint), and Dave Evans (designed the first Apple mouse, Co-Founder of Electronic Arts, Co-Creator of Designing Your Life, and a professor at Stanford).

Our team is working to provide the 2022 Retreat attendees with a stellar line up of speakers.

Retreat Details

The main goals of the Retreat will be:

1. Integration: Further the integration of faith and vocation among MBA students as a part of whole-life integration, in part, by providing examples of seasoned leaders walking faithfully, pre-retreat readings, and post-retreat video follow-ups.

2. Community and Spiritual Formation: Foster intimate relationships with fellow believers within and across MBA programs. This cross-pollination serves as a source of encouragement and co-labor for advancing the Gospel on campus and in the workplace as well as prepare for the spiritual challenges of our program.

3. Outreach and Impact: Equip fellow students to share the love of Christ in the uniquely secular cultures we are entering on campus and in the workplace.

“I had a very wonderful time in the mountains connecting with like-minded believers and fellowshipping for the weekend. I drew inspiration from the guest speakers and their stories of faith and perseverance. I drew wisdom from conversations with peers on various subjects ranging from financial accountability to godly dating. I drew strength from the breath-taking views of God’s creation and the stillness that I was forced to observe within myself. I’m very grateful for this life-changing opportunity.

- D., MBA+MD Joint Degree Candidate
